What’s at St. John’s for kids?
Elementary Sunday School Class
We Believe nurtures the development of faith through age-appropriate Bible stories and activities. Team taught. Meeting in Building I.
Child care is available in Building 1 from 9:00-12:00 on Sunday mornings for children younger than elementary school age.
Sunday Morning Worship
During the worship service, there is a special message for the children, and then those children second grade or younger may leave the sanctuary to attend Children’s Church designed just for them. Children of any age are always welcome to remain with their parents in the regular worship service.
Under the leadership of Shirley, Kyra and Rebecca, the children share their music in worship on a regular basis. All children are welcome! The children’s choir practices for 30 minutes before worship in Room 209 on Sunday mornings (10:00 – 10:25 am).
Vacation Bible School 2015 (tba)
At St. John’s, Vacation Bible School is for all ages! Our children especially enjoy the VBS inter-generational experience. In 2014 Vacation Bible School was held on June 29 – July 3 with a meal served at 5:45 pm and activities started at 6 pm. We are already planning next year’s program – Hope to see you there!
St. John’s sponsors Girl Scouts (Troop 21174, Delta Sky Service Unit, and Troop 21151) and Boy Scouts within the Southwest District Arrow (Cub Scout Pack 8, Boy Scout Troop 688 and Venture Crew 688). These groups mostly meet in the Scout Room, Building One with occasional use of McPhail Hall and other buildings.
